One Month to Go…

Last year it was hard to believe that this time would actually arrive, but ready or not- here we are! The count down begins. It’s a time to reflect on our students accomplishments, growth and a time to look ahead into the future. As the year draws to a close my prayer is that each student has given their best, worked hard and accomplished the goals laid out.

“Village 15″

During the month of March our 1st and 2nd graders will be building a class village. This will include each student taking on a different occupation and then creating goods or services for the rest of the village people. We encourage our parents to get involved-helping students with much of leg the work at home. Please feel free to stop by March 25/26 to see our finished product. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Fieldtrip

On Wednesday, March 3, 2010 our class will be heading over to Telus World of Science to watch “Secret of the Cardboard Rocket.” The cost of this trip will be $5.00 for students and chaperons. This promises to be a morning of adventure.

ALSO, please remember, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 is also dressdown day. Our class has been asked to adorn themselves in GREEN! Please ensure that this color is included in their dressdown attire.

Annual Class Christmas Party

On Friday, December 18th we will be having our class Christmas party. This promises to be a wonderful morning, and a great start to our Christmas break. Also remember you child will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.

Nightly Reading

Remember to spend 5-10 minutes each evening reading with your child. This will help to improve their reading and broaden their vocabulary. Also remember to sign your child’s reading paper. This will give them a sticker each day, and a chance to be acknowledged as top reader for the month.
